Job Title: Finance Manager/Administrative Coordinator
Location: Fowlerville District Library, 130 South Grand Avenue, Fowlerville, Michigan
Department: Administration
Reports to: Library Director
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, part-time position (24 hours per week)
Job Type: Part-time
Pay Range: $25 – $30 per hour
Benefits: Paid vacation and sick leave after 90 days
Position Summary:
The Finance Manager/Administrative Coordinator at the Fowlerville District Library supports the Library Director by performing various financial and administrative tasks. This role is crucial in maintaining accurate financial records, assisting in budget preparation, and ensuring the efficient financial operation of the library.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial record keeping
  • Accounts payable and receivable
  • Financial reporting including assist with and/or submitting various required reports, such as tax rate requests, Michigan Public Library State Aid Report, and retirement system annual report
  • Budget support including participating in annual budget planning process
  • Audit and compliance
  • Grants and fund management
  • Prepare monthly financial reports for Library Board packet
  • Administrative support including filing, correspondence, assisting with library newsletter, marketing, etc.
  • Some HR tasks including assist with timekeeping, new employee onboarding, background checks, benefits, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 1 year of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a related field. Equivalent combinations of education and commensurate experience will be considered.
    • Experience in a non-profit or public sector environment is a plus.
    • Experience in public finance is a plus.
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online or other accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
    • Knowledge of government accounting practices preferred.

Work Environment:

  • Office environment within the library.
  • Schedule fluctuates according to library needs with evening and weekend hours as required.
